Apoptosis

Description: aka Cell Death. Apoptosis is a process where a cell is degraded in order for it to be ultimately engulfed and recycled. Apoptosis can occur when a cell has become mutated and is on the verge of becoming a cancer. Apoptosis is also the reason why we don't have webbed hands and feet. What basically happens is that the killer t cell communicates with the diseased cell by adhering to it by binding its death ligand to the death receptor on the diseased cell. This causes adapter proteins to attach to the cytosolic side of the receptor. This leads to a signal cascade which involves the recruitment of various other proteins and ultimately results in the death of the cell.

awesome!!!

Its a little confusing, i mean u have to remember the whole cascade, also i didnt understand one thing- when "caspase 8 activates caspase 3, why does the apopotosome activates caspase 3 once again?....... any suggestions on that? why do they need to be activated once again? Its a kind of process which needs to be studies properly...it cant be remembered like this.......... but thanks for the video!

the video is extrinsic also, note T cell and the subsequent activation of the receptor and assembly of caspaces... uh oh looks like it's too late for you. :(

I have a final in C&MB tomorrow and I'm reading about apoptosis right now. Makes the reading much clearer but the video fails to distinguish between intrinsic and extrinsic pathways. The video is intrinsic

That was one of the best things I have ever seen.

Im in med school....biochem exam tomorrow...thanks! :D

This is badass molecular biology. SO COOL, it makes all those college lectures worth it.

incredible :)

how did you get the sound effects?

un Video Excelente Hermano Muy Bueno!!!!! Excellent video bro! Only that, EXCELLENT!

Awesome job! That's just impressive :) Thank's for this, I wish french university would do that work too :p

biochem exam in 2 hours..this was awesome.

Wow, what an incredible video. you're pro!

great great video very useful thanks

nice... thanks ^^

so the INTRISIC Pathway is where by the mitochondria release cyt c which will activate Apaf-1. Apaf-1 will recrute Casp-9 and the resullting Apoptosome will activate Casp-3 which will degrade the actin cytoskeleton resulting in the shrinking of the cell...hmmm,interesting stuff indeed. Good video

AWESOME!!

jaja simplemente genial!!! muy buen apoyo cuando lo estas aprendiendo

way cool dude...u helped me alot with a biology project. thanx 4 uploading

in one word- fantabulous!!!!

Muchas gracias! es lo mejor del mundo!! como que a veces uno no se hace la idea solo leyendo. muchas gracias por subirlo.

That is so cool!

Tip: smoke a bowl before watching

Marvelous.
