Duke researchers are using a vaccine to hopefully prevent recurrence of the most common and deadly type of brain tumors. As opposed to most other cancer treatments, the vaccine does not have negative side effects. So far, the trial has shown promising results. Al Musella, from VirtualTrials.com, talked to Dr Sampson and Dr Friedman about this... They are referring to the CMV virus (Cytomegalovirus). Apparently, they found that a high % of tumors have that antigen present and are trying to make a vaccine against it, just like the one targeted for the papiloma virus in cervical cancer.
