Breast cancer is something women think they know all about: Look for lumps; have mammograms; see our doctors.
But none of that will save you from one silent breast cancer killer that women know virtually nothing about.
It's called "inflammatory breast cancer," and it's something every woman must know about.

It should also be noted that IBC closely resembles eczema. I had a strange looking "mark" come up on my breast recently and my Dr. was concerned that I had IBC. This is a very aggressive form of cancer and is also very rare. If you even suspect that you have this get to your Dr. right away and get checked. Do research also on IBC, eczema, and Paget's Disease of the nipple.
Hey... my mum was diagnosed at the end of may... she has stage three and it had hit her lynth nodes... her Chemo is going well, though she suffers badly with the side effect.. stay positive, I know thats difficult in the early days... and give your mum love and cuddles, she'll need them...Make every day count... if you wanna PM me, please do, am happy to give you a first hand account of what its like to see your mum go through it..it does get easier, I promise. xxx
A friend is suffering from this condition after previously having breast cancer 2 yrs ago. I never new about this until now. Thanks for the insight. I will certainly spread the wisdom!

my mum has just been diagonised with IBC 3 days ago.. like many others it was firstly suspected to just be an infection.. it is in the early stages but has spread to under her arm. I am realy scared as I am 20 years old n still need my mum and so do my sisters. Thank you soo much for posting this video. I had never heard of IBC until my mum was diagonised. it is extremely important for every woman to know about IBC. being the rarest form of breast cancer, it is often neglected as a diagnosis.Recently i have done preliminary research into why IBC is caused (wether it is genetic, environmental, etc.) and it really opened up my eyes to the problems which women face. Thanks for posting. It really does make a difference.
My friend Meg Fox died from this very type of breast cancer in February.
I hope millions of women see this video. Thank you so much.
Thank u 4 sharing this information. I will email everyone I know about IBC.
Thank you for sharing. I appreciate it.

Thanks for posting this.I am sending the link to every woman I know.Kind of scared now though,I do self exams& have a mammogram once a year but have something new to discuss with my doctor.Again, thank you.Ladies, let's take this seriously, not the place for spamming!
My mother doesn't have IBC but she has breast cancer and it has spread to many places in her body. She'll be on chemo the rest of her life, its tough. I wish you, your Mothers, and your families the best and I will keep you all in my prayers. Be positive, and enjoy your time together. Be sure to say I Love You everyday, even if thats the only thing you call to say.
Thank you for posting this here i think by sharing this you may just save someones life.
This is a very serious, mostly misdiagnosed disease. My beautiful sister in law is in the last stages of the disease, and was diagnosed less than a year ago. Fight, kick and scream. Make sure someone listens to you if you are having these symptoms!
My mom died june 18 2001 after being diagnosed with stage 4 IBC. She was 58. IBC victims are much more likely to die than "lump" type breast cancers. What I would recommend to anyone diagnosed with an "infection or mastitis" is to get a second opinion -quickly. It is beatable if caught early and attacked aggressively. Do not allow substandard treatment. This is life or death for you and your family, do not be afraid of hurting feelings.
My mother was diagnosed two days ago. They are waiting a week to do the PET scan and it's driving me crazy. She has been showing symptoms for over a month now and the doctors kept putting her on antibiotics or saying it was "probably post traumatic stress" (she went through chemo and radiation for a different type of breast cancer earlier this year). i am worried for my mom. it's good to read so many other people's stories, even though many of them end in death. thank you for posting this.
I agree as well...
Is there more in statistics or are we speaking out more...mine has been found to
be more random rather than through the family blood...I did a testing. Medical science doesn't gaurantee that but to their knowledge that is the result. So...Enviromental?
my mom was diagnosed about 8 months ago. luckily she only has stage 1. she is starting kemo in a week. TouShay, what kind did you have?
my mom just found out she has this and it has spread to her liver please keep her in her prayers
I agree with you. Something is definitely going on...

What's causing this? 10 years ago, you never even heard of this stuff? And it's happening to younger, and younger women, every year? It kinda makes you get paranoid and wonder, what the hell is going on here?!
My Mom has just been diagnosed with Breast cancer, and her breast looks just like this, only extremely bruised. She did the same thing: waited to find a lump or something... she never found one. Now we've been told it's in her spine and liver, and basically all over. She just started Chemo treatements, but we've been told she only has 18mths, to 8 years to live... it's just horrible! I'm calling this number!!
