Maxed Out is a great documentary. Everyone should watch it.

uh, may be you can calculate what the whole arsenal of atomic bombs cost, their maintenance, and the whole system that could launch them. Then realise they're not meant to be used ever... It all belongs to the system that makes you work your butt off. Don't you get ill, you lazy bas... your health insurance lets you down, because you're not being a good patriot when you're ill. And that's when the credit card comes to your 'rescue' ... and you sell your soul to the devil.

no its the credit cards b/c they come up with schemes in order to trick u into doing wat they want. plus there is no reason for a credit card period it makes no sense.ppl say the atom bomb was the worst invention but i say the credit card was

Me too! I'm really not a shoppaholic. Just buy what I desperately NEED. Never had bad credit.

I survived without a cell-phone all these years.... and I'm still alive.

You live half a mile from work and own a car? Wow! Can't you drop the car and walk and improve your health too?

I get the home grown vegies. I do the same but vegan meals? So you are cutting down on the nutrients your body needs to save a few bucks?

yeah it those damn people using them... like the 42year old man thats retarded, congressmen being bought by corporations. we cant be pulled out cause its communism, but fanny and freddie is just plain old socialism... when the going gets tough the tough get dead, unless youre big business.

Fitting, isn't it?

yea. Under Pressure-David Bowie and Freddie Mercury-from the early 80's

My housemates and I have begun combating the rising cost of food (trucked in with diesel and gasoline) by planting our own gardens. Monthly food bill for six people is often less than $200. We've begun baking our own bread, eating up to three vegan meals per week, and making our own soaps from used fat sources. What we save is INCREDIBLE! We're hoping that others catch on. Every bit you can do to sustain YOURSELF helps! Don't depend on store-bought veggies. Research home-based foods and gardens!

They only target the ones who have the problem. Figure it out!

Right, its those damn predatory borrowers. Watch the movie idiot.

Its not the credit cards that are the problem, its the people using them.

Clinton's credit card being rejected... That's just hilarious.

Hey Wade good job on getting your family out of debt! I am glad you now have a savings. I wish I had some extra to put away, but by the time I pay my basic needs I don't have any left over for a rainy day.

exactly. I have 3 college degrees and keep having to put my loans in forebearance because I can't afford to pay them back on my current salary, yet I can't find a position that pays more because my degrees were in ....art ;-P

Lamia7609 - Keep up the good fight; it will pay off for you big time! Go to Dave Ramsey's website to learn more. daveramsey [dot] com I never had credit cards, and have cut all my families' cards. Following Dave's plan, I've gotten my family out of debt in about 18 months. Tough, tough work, but we did it, and now have a comfortable cushion savings to fall back on!

Lamia7609 i hear ya bro i cant imagine how people shelter, feed, and cloth thier children on 5.15/hr the only way out of this life is college which charges you these fucking gargantuan fee's to listen to some cynical sarcastic prick indoctrinate you.

Drop the cell phone and then get in contact with people how? smoke signals? I come to my mom's and use her internet. I have no cable. I have no furniture, but my bed. This is the cheapest apartment I could find in my area. The point of my post was I am barely making it on 10 bucks an hour. I can see why some people get into the trap of using credit cards because unlike me they enjoy having nice things. I would rather have no stress.

Sounds like you're doing good with your budget. PLEASE stay off the credit cards!!! Can you maybe work some overtime, and possibly drop the cell phone? Just a suggestion...

You are correct the song is "Under Pressure". It was recorded by Queen and David Bowie.

I think it's called "under pressure"

I work clerical positions for about $10/hr. That breaks down after insurance and taxes to about 1100 net a month. Rent is $550, car is $196, Electric $75, car insurance $65, Cell Phone $65. That leaves $149 a month for gas, groceries and toiletries, $37 dollars a week to live on. If I have a car repair or other emergency I'm fucked. I don't have credit cards thank GOD. I don't know how families are making it. Lucky for me I live half mile from work. I use about one tank of gas a month.

I herd from someone who works for CITI Financial that no one in the history of the company has ever payed off a seccond mortgage.
