Morbid Male Obesity and Estrogen
The obesity epidemic in this country may mean cardiologists will have to treat some men as if they were women.
A small study finds morbidly obese men have higher estrogen levels, which may make them more metabolically similar to women.
The research is being presented at the annual meeting of the "American College of Cardiology." American College of Cardiology Board of Trustees member Peter Alagona says the morbidly obese have a body mass index that is greater than 40.
