Very beautiful and inspiring!!
thanks, dear zali. like so many others, i just do what is before me, what makes sense, and often enough find myself dumbfounded. but no matter. as one old teacher said: not knowing is most intimate......
and tibet is at risk..... all areas of tibet.
fyi, his holiness' homeland is amdo.....
I have yet to even meet Joan yet consider her a teacher, I use as example for a way to be in the world when I get out of my own way. There is much suffering in the world today. We are all too familiar with the images we are so often confronted by. This to me is refreshing in the light and hope Roshi shares with those in need. May you also benefit from it's viewing as I did. With deepest regards, just me,
zali
The issue is a religious one. The Christian churches NEED to stop bash Jews and Chinese.
Fett...
if hes serious about the independence of the whole tibet then why hes always asking for autonomy of his own homeland lhasa and not other homeland such as dega, amdo, and many more which are actually larger part of tibet compare to lhasa which is his home ground and the main reason we lost tibet.
Western Human Rights groups use Olympic as a tool to press China. This is dangerous because it may backfire. The actions may turn the Chinese public away. The Chinese may see this as a form of insult to their nation. Any change to China has to be supported by the Chinese people. There is little support for issues like FLG or Tibetan Independence among Chinese public. The Western activism only verifies the Chinese view that Westerners are egotistic, condescending and radically anti-China.
dear friend, dr. philip bhark is returning to kham to this summer to do follow up. as well others are returning in june. this is good news as you are quite right that ongong presence in these clinics is deeply needed. i take it you have been to kham. you know how rugged the conditions are. i am grateful to our clinicians, matthieu ricard, raphaele demandre, and others for their work in this regions. warmly, roshi joan
A profound and eye-opening video clip - the sequencing of local color with the medical effort weaves a touching story line. The woes of Tibet have been greatly exacerbated over the past 4 decades - this donation of medical talent to help lessen the pain of our fellow humans speaks to the soul. Many blessings & light.
systematic follow up in place will be appreciated even more by people in need

Helping Tibet is helping The Soul of Humanity.
Joan and her work are beautiful. Suggest you add web address so people can contact if they wish. Some have it superimposed at the bottom of the film all the way through.
Everyone wants to be happy. One sure way is to help those in need. Bravo!

Compassiona te service in action!
I just have recently been introduced to Roshi Joan Halifax's books. What a beautiful human being... I very much admire her compassion and humanitarian work, something a lot of us 'busy' people can learn from.
The beauty of the peoople and the land shine through in this wonderfully crafted humanitarian documentary. An amazing job by all involved in this undertaking. Hope springs eternal!
I find Roshi Joan Halifax a tremendous example of living compassionately. This video demonstrates to me how she walks her talk.
