This was a year ago. What's sad isn't that a man of the age of Mr. Byrd is suffering from the problems of becoming elder; they are natuaral progressions of life. What is sad is that this man holds one of Washington's most powerful positions; the head of the Senate Appropriations Committe. The democratic party has a responsibility to the American people to remove him in lieu of someone who is better suited, to be frank.
