This is really a far-infrared (thermal) recording. No tricks. It's real infrared radiation measured with a 320 X 240 pixels flir camera.

temprature differential over colour with selective banding otherwise it would be greyscale only,,or to put it another way bloody expensive..also known as far infrared thermography..
