dude i dont mind getting a blood test cuz i gotta have 1 evry month cuz i am animic (i dont have enough iron in my blood) and i always watch it when they draw the blood. and at hospital i had a blood test from my wrist and they accidently hit the artery and it hurt SSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOO badly i was about to scream (mind you im only 13) for a different thing(asthma)

There is an amino acid called phenylalanine. A person with PKU (Phenylketonuria) can't handle phenylalanine add it accumulates in the body, causing brain damage. (among other symptoms) Amino acids form proteins in the body and phenylalanine is in some of the protein. The body breaks proteins down into amino acids, so phenylalanine accumulates when proteins with it are consumed.

my little brother has PKU. we have to order him a special type of food. its very strange.

aaaaaw them never numbed me when drawing blood (i had to have it take blood from me once a week for several months last year...and the worst thing you could do is watch them draw blood! that makes it 10 times worse!!!

every new born has a test to know has he pku or not. so that the medicine could be given. if not, she would have a mental retardation.
